Look what just came in the mail!

woot! i really like this magazine. my mom got me a subscription to it for Christmas. i cant wait to try the yellow tank top and many others.

Ah, yes! about the first knitting/sewing/crocheting group meeting! it went great! there were only 5 people there but they are already expecting more for the next meeting.
So we are sewing quilts, those fleece hat things/scarfs, etc. and knitting/crocheting hats, mittens, scarves, blankets, etc. These things will be made for all sizes, from babys to adults.

the first thing i made for the group were these knitted baby booties:

the pattern was from the 2006 knitting pattern a day calendar.

Now, on to my work in progress...

Im in the process of making this crocheted baby hat for the group as well. It is a really fast hat to make so that will be good for making a lot of them, quickly.

It's almost time for my favorite holiday, Easter!

So while we were on our way to go to barns and noble (book store) yesterday, our van screwed up and almost broke down in the middle of an intersection. twas scary but we made it home safely and now it has to get repaired so we had to get a rental car.

but after the rush of all that we did end up going to barns and noble, and of course i found about a billion knitting and crocheting mags/books i wanted. but i finally decided on these:

SnB Happy Hooker book and Interweave knits magazine. i love them both! and i cant wait to try projects in them such as the lacy socks in the magazine, and practically all of the projects in the book. im starting on that pink bag (mine will be yellow) first.

So the knitting/crocheting/quilting group at church will have its first meeting this thursday! im so excited because ive never really gotten to be around anyone else who knits or crochets so it should be great.

sigh. don't you hate ripping out work? so do i. but i had to rip out several rows on my doily last night because i realized i made a mistake that would have screwed the whole thing up. so here is my progress now.


sorry for the insane glare in the middle. so anyways i am using 100% cotton size 10. and the hook is size 5 (1.7mm). after i make this, im thinking i will try to dye some of this yarn pretty colors, maybe try kool-aid or somethin? because i clearly will have plenty of yarn left. hmmmm sounds fun!

Well its been icing here since this morning. so i decided to watch the goonies and crochet a green bunny named pete.

So at church they are starting a group called 'knit wits' where we will knit, crochet, or sew clothes for kids. im not sure when we will start meeting but i cant wait. :)

oh yeh, about the sweater for k.c. (my dog)... well i started it last night while watching wallace and gromit (curse of the ware rabbit) teehee! but i didnt really like the size it ended up being so i guess i will try again sometime else.

ITS SNOWING! its so pretty! ive been thinking about making my dog a sweater since she has to be outside a lot.

So my cousin is getting married this summer and i really want to make her a doily as a wedding gift. i found this GREAT book for easy doilies from Annie's Attic and so i think i will try one of them. im thinking the colors will be maybe blues and yellows...? hmm we'll see i guess!


Also, my mom bought me this fantastic fabric for valentines day! Isnt it amazing? im not sure what im gonna make w/ it. possibly a bag or something.


well i better get crafting! it's a 3 day weekend, after all!
